Day 2 Ends With Ari Oxman Leading the Final 39 Players

Level 20 comes to an end, and the remaining 39 players bag up their chips for Day 3, which will be held in the Venetian Poker Room tomorrow at 12:00 noon.

The chipleader is Ari Oxman, who bagged up 3,310,000 (132 big blinds). The full list of official chip counts can be found on our Chip Counts Tab, and the Day 2 seat draw will be posted later tonight. In the meantime, here’s a look at the top five:

Photo:  Stephen Song (left) and Scotty Nguyen started Day 2 seated next to each other, with Nguyen doubling thru Song early. After that hand, Song asked for a selfie with Nguyen, and said losing the pot was “worth it.” Now they’ve both made Day 2, with Song fourth in chips and Nguyen 25th.

There are still nine members of the WPT Champions Club in the field, including several old-schoolers who started their professional poker careers before the era of televised poker.

Day 3 begins tomorrow at 12:00 noon in the Venetian Poker Room, and they will play as long as it takes to reach the final six players for Wednesday’s WPT Final Table.
