Day 2 of the Main Event Kicks Off at 2 pm!

Feb 8, 2020

S18 WPTDS Brussels

The three starting flights have come and gone, which means it is time for Day 2 to get underway here at the Grand Casino Brussels Viage. A total of 433 entries (including re-entries) paid €1,200 to enter and of those, 149 managed to secure themselves a seat.

Starting in pole position is Dino Marsani with 327,500, which is worth over 160 big blinds when play gets underway shortly. Ugo Faggioli is best placed to challenge with 267,000, good for second place. Day 1a chip leader Hugues Mazerolle starts in third overall with 248,000 and Said Tahar in fourth with 200,000. Jozsef Szabo (193,000), Sabare Atmani (193,000) and Zekeriya Akkaya (193,000) all tie for fifth spot.

Champions Club member Davidi Kitai (64,500) and WPTDS Malta Champion Sandro Pitzanti (60,000) are both in the running and will try for a second title. Unfortunately defending Champion Gregory Luttke-Grech and WPTDS Brussels February 2019 Champion Mohamed Abdou didn’t manage to progress, but it does mean that there will be a brand new WPTDS Brussels Champion!

There are still some big names with stacks who we will be keeping a close eye on. Omar Lakhdari (189,000), Julien Sitbon (184,000), Tomas Macnamara (155,000), Alexandre Reard (134,000), Florian Duta (128,500), Michel Leibgorin (122,000), Nikolaus Teichert (121,000) Chris Da-Silva (106,000) and Gary Hasson (100,000) all return with at least 50 big blinds in play.

On the schedule for today are 10 levels and blinds have increased to 60-minutes long. Play will resume at Level 13, which is 1,000-2,000 2,000 big blind ante. There will be a break every two hours, at the end of every second level.

WPT.com will be here to guide you through it all with live coverage beginning from the moment cards are in the air, until the last chip has been bagged.
