Alex Keating arrives about five minutes after play began, and sits down shortly before this hand begins.

Ryan Rivers raises from the cutoff to 45,000, Alex Keating calls from the button, and Derek Wolters (pictured) calls from the big blind.

The flop comes Club 10Spade 8Heart 8, Wolters checks, and Rivers bets 60,000. Keating calls, and Wolters check-raises to 230,000. Rivers calls, and Keating thinks for most of his 30 seconds before he folds.

The turn card is the Club 9, Wolters bets 375,000, and Rivers folds. Wolters takes the pot.

Derek Wolters  –  1,670,000  (84 bb)
Alex Keating  –  1,005,000  (50 bb)
Ryan Rivers  –  1,450,000  (73 bb)

After the hand, Keating tells Wolters, “I flopped a really big hand.”

Wolters asks, “Ace-ten?”

Keating says, “Yeah, I had ace-ten.” Then, referring to Rivers calling Wolters check-raise on the flop, he adds, “Did he save me?”

Wolters doesn’t respond directly, and simply says, “It was a really good turn.” Keating gives him a quizzical look, and that seems to end the topic as Keating moves on to ask the table how much time he missed by arriving late (five minutes).
