Dwyte Pilgrim Doubles Through Sean Nolan

Sep 22, 2010

Dwyte Pilgrim raises to 200,000 from under the gun and Sean Dolan reraises to 560,000 from the cutoff.  Pilgrim thinks a while, then tells Nolan, "You haven’t reraised me in two days."

"Fact," Nolan replies.

"Will you show me if I fold?"

"I’ll show you one," Nolan offers.  "And that’s a stretch because I didn’t show him any," says as he gestures to tablemate Daniel Makowsky.  "But I’m just a fan," he adds with a wink in Pilgrim’s direction.

Pilgrim reraises to 975,000 and Nolan instantly moves all-in.  Pilgrim beats him into the pot with [AsAh].  Nolan is in bad shape with [AdKc].  Pilgrim stands and watches as the board runs out [Qd5s5dJh3s] and rushes to his rail as soon as the river hits for a round of high fives and cheers.

Andrew Youngblood comes over from the other table to congratulate Pilgrim.

"You were really sweating with those aces," Youngblood tells him.

Pilgrim is ready with a response.  "When you’ve got an eight-million chip pot, you make sure it come queen."

Pilgrim then turns to the crowd, and offers them a firm salute.

"It was the psychology," he tells them.  Pilgrim takes the scene in for a moment and lets out a sigh and then adds, "Its time to humble down."

As Pilgrim is restacking his chips, someone points out that one of his stacks is dirty.  Pilgrim pulls out the off-color chip and realizes it is one of the recently-introduced yellow 100,000 chips.  Pilgrim is thrilled.

"That is the best dirty stack I’ve ever had in my life. A dirty stack with a 100,000 chip!"

Once the stacks are counted down and the chips are settled  in front of Pilgrim, the table still can’t stop talking about the hand, including the man of the moment himself, who offers some words of wisdom for Nolan:

"When you’re ready to flip for three million son, ya made a mistake."

Dwyte Pilgrim – 6,250,000 (78 big blinds)
Sean Nolan – 1,325,000 (17 big blinds)
