Among the early casualties on Day 1a are Jerome Zerbib, Wojciech Wyrebski and Timur Margolin.

According to Peter Jaksland, Margolin was eliminated when he hit top pair withn ace-jack only for his nemesis from earlier, Pierre Calamusa, to turn over pocket aces for the overpair.
