Fabian Gumz Slow-Plays a Double Thru Konstantinos Nanos

Apr 14, 2024

After Konstantinos Nanos raises to 55,000 in early position, Fabian Gumz three-bets to 200,000 from the big blind, leaving himself 30,000 behind.

Nanos puts in two pink T-100,000 chips, but doesn’t state “raise”, so his action is ruled a call.

With just 30,000 back, Gumz checks the Spade JSpade 7Heart 5 flop. Nanos laughs and checks it back.

On the Heart 9 turn, Gumz bets 25,000, leaving himself a single chip, leading to more chuckles around the table. After asking Gumz what he wants him to do, Nanos just calls, bringing forth more laughs from the table.

On the Spade A river, Gumz commits that final chip and gets a call from Nanos. Both players then show surprisingly strong hands.

Gumz shows Heart JClub J for a flopped set of jacks, while Nanos shows Heart AClub 9 for running two pair which aren’t any good.

Gumz claims a drawn out double-up claiming after the hand, “I slow-played it perfectly.”

Konstantinos Nanos – 1,300,000 (52 bb)
Fabian Gumz – 500,000 (20 bb)
