Final Hand: Braden Hall Doubles Thru Peter Jetten

Dec 8, 2011

This was the final hand of the night, and it started when all the other tables were already bagging their chips.

After a flop of [8s7s5c], Braden Hall bets 22,000 from the big blind, Peter Jetten raises under the gun to 60,000, and a player in middle position folds. The action is back on Hall, and he tanks for several minutes until somebody calls the clock.

The countdown doesn’t get very far before Hall moves all in for about 100,000. Jetten doesn’t look too pleased as he makes the call with [10c9d] (open-ended straight draw). Hall turns over [Jc6d], and he’s actually in the lead with jack high and a different open-ended straight draw.

The turn is the [2c], the river is the [Ac], and Braden Hall wins the pot with jack high to double up.

Braden Hall  –  308,500  (51 BBs*)
Peter Jetten  –  200,500  (33 BBs*)

* Big blinds computed using tomorrow’s opening blinds of 3,000-6,000 (500 ante).
