Seat 2.  Daniel Weinman

Daniel Weinman received his seat in this tournament when he won the Borgata Winter Poker Open in January. The resident of Oxon Hill, Maryland also took home $892,433 in prize money for the victory on his 29th birthday. “It’s huge, I don’t play a ton of tournaments outside of the World Series, so to come here and win a field this big and a prestigious tournament as this is great,” said Weinman after his big win.

Weinman is also credited with creating the Fantasyland variation of open-face Chinese poker. “I lost a big number playing the original game, and I had read something about something that was kind of like Fantasyland, but it seemed kind of far out. So we kind of just tinkered around with it until it made sense, and the game was born,” said Weinman when he was asked about his inspiration to create the rules for the game.

Weinman has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech, but he only spent one year as a working engineer before switching careers to become a professional poker player. His total live earnings stand at $2,226,688. Weinman enters the final table as the chip leader.
