First Two Players Eliminated: Chen Sui Yu in 8th and Fu Peng in 9th

Nov 20, 2017

Thanks to our friends over at Somuchpoker.com, who are on site in Sanya, we’ve got the lowdown on the first two eliminations of the WPT Sanya Main Event final table. First, it was Fu Peng who went out in ninth place. After that, Chen Sui Yu followed to the payout desk with an eighth-place result. Here’s how the two eliminations happened.

On the first of the two bust outs, Peng was all in with the Spade 9Diamond 9 in a three-way clash against Hu Ling Fei and Tang Ying. Fei held the Heart AClub K, and Ying had the Spade 10Heart 10. The flop, turn, and river ran out Diamond 5Diamond 3Spade 3Spade ASpade 6 to bust Peng in ninth place. Peng took home a payday of CNY 150,000 ($22,700).

Fei, the winner of the three-way all-in clash that caused the first casualty of the final table, had just doubled up on one of the first hands of play. That double, in combination with winning the three-way pot against Peng and Ying, had Fei off to a roaring start after starting with the shortest stack remaining.

Shortly after, Chen Sui Yu, who began the day as the third shortest stack in the field, fell in eighth place. Yu was eliminated by chip leader Qian Zhi Qiang when his Heart KHeart 5 fell to the Spade KClub 7.

Yu earned CNY 205,000 ($30,100) for his efforts.
