Foster Gives Up a Few

Oct 1, 2017

Richard Foster had chipped up to challenge for the chip lead not long ago, though he took a small hit to stack just now after losing a preflop all-in to a short stack.

The hand starts with a button raise to 2,300 and a call from the small blind from Foster. Then the big blind pushes all in for 20,600 total, and after a half-minute the button gets out.

Foster takes much longer — a couple of minutes — sliding his cards back and forth as he thinks. Finally he gathers chips and calls, showing Spade KDiamond 6 while his opponent has Club ADiamond 3.

Foster nods, and as he’ll say afterwards is glad enough to have two live cards. But the Spade ASpade 9Club 10Club JHeart 5 board goes the other player’s way.

Foster still has a big stack of about 195,000 as they move into the last part of Level 10.
