Mar 11, 2016

Champion Stefan Schillhabel
Adam Geyer moves all in for 1,850,000, and Stefan Schillhabel asks for an exact count before he calls with Spade 8Diamond 7. Geyer turns over Diamond KSpade 9, and he needs his hand to hold to stay alive.

The board comes Spade KClub 10Club 3Heart 8Club 8 — Geyer pairs his king on the flop, but Schillhabel pairs his eight on the turn and rivers trips to win the pot — and the WPT title — with trip eights.

Adam Geyer finishes as the runner-up, earning $752,800.

Stefan Schillhabel wins the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star, earning $1,298,000, which includes his entry into the season-ending WPT Tournament of Champions. Schillhabel also receives a WPT Champions Trophy, a Hublot watch, and a pair of gold Monster 24K Headphones. Schillhabel’s name will be engraved on the one-and-only WPT Champions Cup, alongside every other WPT champion from all 14 seasons.
