Hand #124: Alex Foxen Eliminated in 2nd Place ($1,134,202); Ryan Tosoc Wins!

Dec 10, 2017

Champion Ryan Tosoc

From the button, Ryan Tosoc (pictured above) raises to 500,000, and Alex Foxen (pictured below) three-bet shoves for 2,900,000. Tosoc quickly calls, and the cards are tabled.

Foxen: Heart AClub 10
Tosoc: Club QHeart 10

With Foxen at risk, but in the lead, the dealer spreads a Heart 9Diamond 3Diamond K flop to keep him in the lead, but also give Tosoc an additional four outs to a straight to go along with his live queen.

The turn lands the Heart J which thrusts Tosoc into the lead, but it also gave Foxen outs to a bigger straight with one of the three remaining queens in the deck.

The order was given to the dealer, and she burned and turned the Club J to send Foxen out the door in 2nd place for a $1,134,202 payday.

For Tosoc, he captures the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic title and the $1,958,065 first prize. More importantly, he receives retribution after finishing in 2nd place to James Romero in this very event just a year ago.

Heads Up Alex Foxen
