Hand #131: Brian Altman Wins WPT Lucky Hearts! ($723,008)

Feb 11, 2015

Champion Brian Altman

Mark Dube raises to 900,000, and Brian Altman calls.

The flop comes Aspade5spade3spade, Altman checks, Dube bets 1,100,000, and Altman check-raises to 2,600,000. Dube thinks for about 40 seconds before he moves all in for 9,600,000.

Altman snap-calls with Kspade8spade for the king-high flush, and Dube turns over AheartAdiamond for a set of aces. Dube needs the board to pair to stay alive.

The turn is the 4club, the river is the 8heart, and Altman wins the pot — and the WPT title — with a spade flush.

Mark Dube finishes as the runner-up, earning $434,462.

Brian Altman wins the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open, earning $723,008. That amount includes his $15,400 entry into the season-ending WPT World Championship in April. Altman also receives a pair of Monster DNA Headphones, a WPT Champions Trophy, and he will get his name inscribed on the one-and-only WPT Champions Cup alongside every other WPT champion in history.

Congratulations to Brian Altman!
