Hand #23: Rainer Kempe Eliminated by Larry Ormson on the Money Bubble

In Hand #23 of hand-for-hand play on the Money Bubble, Rainer Kempe limps under the gun for 5,000, leaving himself just 2,000 behind. Chipleader Seth Davies completes the small blind, and Larry Ormson checks his option in the big blind.

The flop comes Spade AHeart JDiamond 3, Davies checks, and Ormson bets 5,000. Kempe calls all in for 2,000, and Davies calls the 5,000.

There is 26,000 in the main pot (which Kempe qualifies for), and another 6,000 in the side pot. Any further betting will go into the side pot.

The turn card is the Diamond 4, and both players check. The river card is the Club 7, Davies checks, and Ormson bets 20,000, saying to Kempe, “I’ll give you a little bit of cover.” Davies folds.

Kempe shows Spade JDiamond 2 for a pair of jacks, but Ormson turns over Heart ASpade 7 to win the pot with two pair, aces and sevens. Kempe is eliminated on the Money Bubble in 25th place.
