Hands #114-118: Darie on the Brink of Victory

Mar 20, 2016

Hand 114: Zoltan Gal limped with Club 6Spade 5 and Darie Vlad checked with Club 3Spade 2. Unseen action on the flop led to a very quick bet from Gal on the turn of 120,000, which took it down.

Hand 115: Darie limps with Club 9Club 7 Gal check Heart KHeart 5 the flopis Spade KSpade 6Spade Q. Gal 130,000 Darie 370,000. Gal calls it off. The turn is Diamond J and both check. The Spade 10 lands on the rive and Darie has plucked a four-outer…yet again!!! It’s a spade, so both players might be scared of the flush given neither has it, but Gal knows the only way he can win is to bluff this, and he leads out 330,000. Can Darie call it off to leave his opponent on just a million? He can, and Vlad Darie now has a 6:1 chip lead. Zoltan Gal can scarcely conceal his disbelief at how that hand played out.

Hand 116: Gal goes all-in for 10 big blinds with Diamond 7Diamond 5 and gets a fold.

Hand 117: Darie raises all-in with Diamond AHeart 2 and Gal folds his Diamond JHeart 8 to see another deal.

Hand 118: Gal folds Heart 10Spade 5 and it was a good idea, as Darie had Heart AClub 5 . Darie is still more than 6:1 up in the counts, so Gal really is in the ‘last chance saloon’ here in Vienna.
