HAND #18  –  After putting 80,000 in for the big-blind ante, Sam Zhu is forced all in from the big blind for his last 5,000. Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault raises UTG+1 to 160,000, and everyone else folds.

Zhu turns over Heart AClub 2, and he needs to improve to stay alive against Carpentier-Perrault’s Diamond ADiamond 6. (Though there is a decent chance for a chop here.)

The flop comes Club AClub JSpade J, and both players flop two pair, aces and jacks. Zhu simply needs a card higher than a six to hit the board for kicker protection to chop the pot.

The turn card is the Spade 3, and the river card is — the Heart 4.

Carpentier-Perrault’s six plays as his kicker to win the pot and eliminate Zhu in ninth place.
