Hands #50-54: Two Pair on the Board Save Doug Kim

Sep 22, 2011

Hand #50  –  Bobby Oboodi raises from the button to 250,000, winning the blinds and antes. He shows one card — the [As] — as he collects the chips.

Hand #51  –  Bobby Oboodi raises from the cutoff to 250,000, winning the blinds and antes.

Hand #52  –  Jin Hwang was away from his seat, and just missed claiming his cards in the small blind this hand. So his hand is mucked by the dealer. Daniel Buzgon moves all in from the cutoff, winning the blinds and antes. Buzgon shows one card — the [Ah] — as he collects the chips.

Hand #53  –  Fred Goldberg raises from early position to 275,000, winning the blinds and antes.

Hand #54  –  Doug Kim moves all in from the small blind for 1,825,000, and Joe Dittmar calls form the big blind with [4d4h]. It’s a best-case scenario for Dittmar, as Kim turns over [2d2s]. Kim will need to improve to stay alive.

The board comes [KhJs8c8dKc], and the board double pairs to counterfeit their pocket pairs, and it’s a chopped pot.
