Hands #91-95: Matin Talebi Gets Away With Two Big Bluffs

HAND #91 – Maksym Klopotok moves all in for 2,125,000 in the cutoff and Vasyl Vasylyshyn asks for a count in the big blind before folding Diamond KDiamond J.


HAND #92 – Jeffrey Jol raises to 300,000 on the button and Rutger Hennen calls in the big blind.

The flop comes Heart 5Heart 6Spade K and Jol wins the pot with a bet of 225,000.


HAND #93 – Matin Talebi raises to 325,000 in the hijack and Rutger Hennen calls in the small blind, as does big blind Robert Schiffbauer.

All three players check the Spade QDiamond KClub Q flop. The turn is the Diamond A and Talebi bets 625,000. 

Hennen then raises to 1,300,000 and Schiffbauer folds. Talebi, though, reraises to 3,000,000 and Hennen folds. Talebi then shows Spade 4Diamond 4 as he takes the pot to a round of applause from the rest of the table.

“You were beating me but I was thinking of doing something silly,” Schiffbauer says.

“I might have been beating him too. But that’s not what I was counting on,” Talebi replies.


HAND #94 – Jeffrey Jol raises to 300,000 in the hijack and Vasyl Vasylyshyn calls in the cutoff.

The flop comes Heart 3Diamond 7Spade 7 and Jol bets 150,000. Vasylyshyn calls and the Spade 3 falls on the turn.

Jol then bets 375,000 and Vasylyshyn calls again. Both players check the Diamond Q river and Jol shows Club 9Heart 9. Vasylyshyn mucks Club 5Heart 5.


HAND #95 – Robert Schiffbauer raises to 300,000 on the button and Matin Talebi calls in the big blind.

The flop comes Spade 8Heart 6Club 6 and Schiffbauer bets 300,000. Talebi calls.

The turn is the Club 7 and Schiffbauer bets 550,000. Talebi then raises to 1,600,000 and Schiffbauer folds.

“Now we’re playing poker,” Talebi says as he slams down Club ADiamond 2. “I’ve been sleeping so long they thought I was a corpse.”
