Heather Sue Mercer Eliminated by Faraz Jaka

Apr 21, 2010

Heather Sue Mercer raises to 40,000 from under the gun and Faraz Jaka immediately reraises to 110,000.  Mercer makes it 300,000 to go and Jaka announces he is all-in.

Mercer makes the easy call with pocket aces and Jaka tables…[3d9s].  Things are looking good for Mercer, until the flop falls [9c8d3s] to give Jaka two pair.  The turn is the [5h] and the river is the [10c]  and Jaka scoops the biggest pot of the tournament so far, eliminating Mercer in the process.

A crowd gathers around the table to see the damage and the good-hearted ribbing of the Player of the Year frontrunner begins:

"That’s why they call him The Toliet," Cliff Josephy jokes, referencing Jaka’s online screenname.

"What does it feel like to just flop two pair like that?," Matt Stout asks.

Phil Hellmuth has also wandered over to see what happens and the table fills him in on the action.

"Come over to my table Faraz," Hellmuth says with a big smile.

"I’m coming," Jaka responds. "I’ll do you dirtier.  I’ll have 3-8."

Faraz Jaka – 3,420,000
Heather Sue Mercer – eliminated in 21st place
