Huang Deng Dong Outdrawn by Chip Leader Qian Zhu Qiang to Bust 4th

Nov 21, 2017

According to our friends at Somuchpoker.com, action folded to big stack Qian Zhu Qiang, whose stack was approaching 8 million in chips. He raised from the small blind and Huang Deng Dong, who come into the day second in chips, three-bet all in from the big blind. Qiang asked for a count, went into the tank, then called with the Diamond ADiamond Q. Dong was at risk holding the Spade KSpade J.

The flop of Club KClub 6Club 3 gave Dong the lead with top pair, and the Club J on the turn improved him to two pair. Neither player held a club, so a flush on the board would make for a chopped pot. Therefore, Qiang was looking for a non-club ten to win the pot and score another elimination.

The Spade 10 landed on the river, handing Qian a Broadway straight and sending Dong to the exit in fourth place.

Dong receivesd CNY 520,000 ($78,800) for his deep run, with the remaining three players all guaranteed at least CNY 700,000 ($106,000).
