Hublot WPT Player of the Year Race

As the first half of WPT Season XIV winds down, there is a log jam atop the Hublot Player of the Year Leaderboard. Four players are tied atop the leaderboard with WPT Choctaw champion Jason Brin, WPT Legends of Poker champion Mike Shariati, WPT Borgata Poker Open champion David Paredes and Andjelko Andrejevic tied for the most points with 1,200 each. Since ties are decided by money earned, Paredes tops the official Hublot POY leaderboard after earning $723,227 in Atlantic City.

Last season, Darren Elias made a run at a POY title, ultimately finishing second to Anthony Zinno. Elias is making another run this season, currently sitting in fifth place on the leaderboard with 1,150 points. He has already amassed $388,792 in winnings with four cashes and a final table under his belt.

Both Elias and Paredes started the day with hopes of adding to their POY point total with a cash in Jacksonville, but both were eliminated early on Day 2. There are only four players remaining in the field here at Jacksonville who are in the top 20 of the current POY race. Andy Hwang, Joe Kuether, Maurice Hawkins and Mina Greco are all still alive in Jacksonville and can move up the leaderboard with a cash at bestbet.

Hwang and Hawkins have very healthy chip stacks, while Kuether is in the middle of the pack and Greco is near the bottom of the counts.
