We’re fifteen minutes in and we’ve lost four players. Every time Chris Speirs finishs announcing one knock-out hand, another one begins.
Courtney Harrington, the tournament reporter with a dream, managed to double up through Brandon Cantu, giving him a tiny bit of breathing room. Every member of every media outlet is cheering for him in a field that’s becoming increasingly reminiscent of David vs Goliath.
Of the four players eliminated, the only name I recognized was that of Mimi Tran. That left Gina Hewitt as our lone woman player. Gina was all-in early, but stayed alive by hitting four jacks. I’m going to go do a quick ‘who’s where?’ now before we get down to six.
