"I Wonder What It Is Like" to Be Jason Mercier

Feb 25, 2012

Jamie Rosen, who recently joined the line-up at the feature table, raises to 800 from under the gun and Jason Mercier reraises to 2,150 behind him.  Rosen fires back, four-betting to 3,975 total.  Mercier calls.

The two players see a flop of [Ac6h3h] and both players check.  The turn brings the [9h] and Rosen bets 3,800.  Mercier calls.  The river is the [5c] and Rosen checks again.  Mercier bets 13,700 and Rosen thinks a bit before calling.

Mercier shows [6d6c] for a flopped set of sixes and Rosen mucks.  As Mercier rakes in the chips, his lively tablemates start in on the friendly ribbing.

Mercier’s friend Dan O’Brien muses, "I wonder what it is like? Oh there’s my set in the window and the ace behind it."

Lindgren chimes in as well, adding, "Some people are so short-sighted to only root for their card to come."

Jason Mercier – 73,000
Jamie Rosen – 14,000
