James Rann raises from the button to 85,000, Marty Mathis moves all in from the small blind for 585,000, and Phil Hui moves all in over the top from the big blind for 1,645,000. Rann calls, easily covering both players.

Here are their cards in descending order of chip counts:

James Rann:  Diamond JClub J
Phil Hui:  Heart AClub Q
Marty Mathis:  Heart 8Diamond 8

The board comes Spade KClub 7Heart 5Diamond 6Diamond J — Mathis turns an open-ended straight draw, but improves no further. Rann leads the entire way with his pocket jacks, rivering a set to scoop the entire pot and eliminate both players from the tournament.

Because Hui started the hand with more chips than Mathis, Hui receives the higher finishing position.

James Rann  –  4,880,000  (122 bb)
Phil Hui  –  Eliminated in 17th Place  ($21,305)
Marty Mathis  –  Eliminated in 18th Place  ($21,305)
