On the board of [7c6d5c], Jamie Gold in middle position checks and Phil Laak checks behind him.

The turn is a [2d], Gold asks Laak if he’s on a flush draw and Laak tip toes around the question and never answers. Meanwhile Gold fires out 10,000 and Laak quickly calls. Gold says “You’re only calling. Fine then, I’m all-in in the dark.” as he moves his remaining 7,800 into the pot.

Laak asks the dealer for the river card which is a [Ks] and Gold begins telling Phil, “Save your money, Save your money. Let me tell you this Phil, I loved my hand on the flop.” Laak goes into the tank, really wanting to call, but finally mucks.

Gold mucks face down, rakes in the chips, looks at Phil and says “Thanks for not calling Phil. Thanks for saving my tournament life.”
