Jeremy Ausmus Doubles (and a Half) Thru John Hennigan

WPT Champions Club member John Hennigan raises from the cutoff to 6,500, Jeremy Ausmus reraises from the button to 20,000, and the player in the big blind reraises to 83,000. Hennigan five-bets all in for a little more than 300,000, and Ausmus calls all in for 181,000. The player in the big blind tanks for a while before he folds.

Ausmus turns over , and he needs them to hold to stay alive against Hennigan’s .

The board comes , and the pocket aces hold up for Ausmus to win the pot, increasing his stack nearly 2.5x from 181,000 to about 450,000.

After the hand, Maria Konnikova smiles and says, “Nice spot, Jeremy. That’s how you play aces.”
