Jimmy Gorham Eliminated in 2nd Place ($56,595); Jasthi Kumar Wins ($80,840)!

Apr 18, 2016

Jimmy Gorham and Jasthi Kumar see a flop of Club 5Club 7Heart 2 and both check their action. The Heart K falls on fourth street and Gorham reaches for chips. He moves 200,000 into the center of the table. Kumar grabs a handful of pink 100,000-denomination chips and flings the entire stack forward, signifying a raise that’s a significant portion of Gorham’s remaining stack. Gorham three-bets all in and Kumar instantly calls.

Kumar: Club ADiamond K
Gorham: Spade 5Spade 2

“I have two pair,” says Gorham excitedly as he stands from the table.

Gorham’s two pair leads Kumar’s top pair heading to the river. Unfortunately for Gorham, the Diamond 7 rolls off on fifth street, pairing the board and giving Kumar a higher two pair. Gorham is eliminated as the runner up and collects $56,595 in prize money.

Jasthi Kumar, on the other hand, is crowned the victor, denying Gorham the title of first WPTDS two-time champ. Kumar takes home $80,840 in prize money.
