Joe Bartholdi Eliminated in 250,000-Chip Pot

Aug 27, 2011

It is a war of preflop aggression as Cody Slaubaugh raises to 2,400 from from middle position and Joe Bartholdi reraises to 7,000 on the button.  When action gets back around to Slaubaugh, he four-bets to 22,500.

Bartholdi doesn’t back down and reraises, making it 40,000 to play.  Slaubaugh thinks a minute before reraising his entire stack of blue 5,000, which is roughly 90,000 chips.

Bartholdi quickly announces he is all-in for around 30,000 more and Slaubaugh calls with little thought.

Bartholdi turns over [AcKs] and he is racing with Slaubaugh’s [9d9s].  The [Ad9h3d] flop pairs up Bartholdi, but it also gives Slaubaugh a set and a big advantage in the hand.  The turn brings the [4s] and the river the [5c] and Slaubaugh takes the pot.

The two are so close in chips that they have to fully count down both stacks before it is determined that Slaubaugh has Bartholdi out-chipped by 2,600.  Bartholdi heads for the door and Slaubaugh stacks up one of the biggest pots of the afternoon.

Cody Slaubaugh – 250,000
Joe Bartholdi – eliminated
