Joe Serock Takes a Chunk Out of Heather Sue Mercer's Stack

Jean-Noel Thorel raises to 600 from early position, Bob Bounahra calls behind him, and Heather Sue Mercer raises to 2,600 total. Joe Serock is next to act and calls. Thorel calls as well, while Bounahra folds.

The flop comes [Ad6s4d] and thorel checks to Mercer, who bets 6,000. Serock calls and Thorel folds.  The turn brings the [Js] and Mercer checks. Serock bets 14,000 and Mercer calls.  

The river is the [6d] and Mercer checks again. Serock bets 35,000 and Mercer thinks a bit before calling. Serock turns over [AcJc] for two pair, aces and jacks, Mercer mucks, and Serock takes the pot.

Serock is one of the major players in the still wide-open WPT Player of the Year race. He is currently second behind Legends of Poker winner Will Failla, who has yet to take his seat in the field, but trails by just 250 points and could regain the lead with a deep run in this event.
