Jonas Wexler (pictured) raises from the cutoff to 605,000, leaving himself just 105,000 behind, and Dan Wach moves all in from the big blind.

Wexler makes it clear that he is in no rush to finish this hand, as there is a money jump as soon as one more player busts. He has four 30-second Time Chips remaining, and he says he plans to use all four. As soon as one more player is eliminated, the remaining players will all be reset to exactly six Time Chips each.

Wexler says, “We’re getting new ones anyway, so might as well use them.” Wexler is in a fun mood, even though he’s facing potential elimination.

Daniel Buzgon is at the next table, and Wexler says, “Dan, can you bust somebody in the next two minutes?” Buzgon is already out of the hand in progress, and says that it’s unlikely.

Wexler looks at the Action Clock and rhetorically says, “What if it reaches zero and I forget to say ‘Call’?”

Wexler calls out to another table and asks if anyone looks like they might bust. Wach says, “If you’re telling every table, it’s even more unlikely to happen.”

As the final bit of his time is running down (two-and-a-half minutes), Wexler jokingly asks, “How much is it?” before he calls with Club ASpade K. Wach turns over Diamond QClub Q, and it’s a race situation.

The board comes Club KHeart JClub 6Spade 9Spade 8, and Wexler pairs his king on the flop to win the pot and double up in chips after all.

Jonas Wexler  –  1,480,000  (37 bb)
