Lee Watkinson Building His Stack

Aug 25, 2007

Shortly before the break, the player in seat 2 raises from late position to 350, the cutoff calls, the small blind calls, and Lee Watkinson calls from the big blind. The flop comes [Qd7c3h], and all four players check. The turn card is the [7h], the small blind checks, Watkinson bets 1,000, the two late position players fold, and the small blind calls. The river card is the [4d], and both players check. Watkinson shows [Qh10h] to win the pot with a pair of queens, and the small blind mucks.

Two hands later, the board shows [5d][4d][2h][6h] on the turn. A player in late position checks, Watkinson bets 2,700, and his opponent folds, saying he really wanted to see one more card, but it wasn’t worth it. Watkinson says another card probably wasn’t going to help, but his opponent claims to have folded the nut flush draw.

After the two hands, Lee Watkinson is up to 28,400 in chips.
