One hand after surviving the big blind, Linas Balaisis is forced all in from the small blind for his last 3,000. Dmitrii Shchepkin limps under the gun for 8,000, Hal Light limps UTG+1, and Joseph Guarino checks his option in the big blind.

There is now 20,000 in the main pot, which Balaisis qualifies for, and another 20,000 in the side pot between the three live players. Any further betting will go into the side pot.

All three live players check to the river on a board of Club QClub 10Diamond 5Spade 9Diamond 10, and everyone turns over their cards:

Dmitrii Shchepkin:  Heart KHeart 7  (king high)
Joseph Guarino:  Heart 8Heart 2  (eight high)
Hal Light:  Club KClub 4  (king high)
Linas Balaisis:  Heart ADiamond 8  (ace high)

None of the four players connected to the board in any way, and most of the table cheers once again as Balaisis wins the main pot with his ace to more than sextuple his stack up to 20K. Shchepkin and Light chop the side pot with their kings, since neither kicker plays.

Linas Balaisis  –  20,000  (2 1/2 bb)

Update: Day 1B came to an end shortly after this hand, and Linas Balaisis survived with exactly 20,000 — the same size as the starting stack. His entire table congratulated him on his good fortune in making it to Day 2.
