With the WPT L.A. Poker Classic heading to its penultimate day, Mike Shariati leads the final 14 players with the final table just one day away.

Shariati finishes the day with 2,450,000 and is the only player above the 2 million chip mark. He is searching for his second WPT title this season and both stops in the Los Angeles area, after taking down the WPT Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino last August. Aside from searching for his second title, he can overtake Cate Hall in the Player of the Year race with a 12th place finish or better.

Joining him at the top of the counts are Farid Jattin and Anthony Spinella with 1,960,000 and 1,785,000 in chips respectively. Champions Club Member John Hennigan sits in fourth place with 1,638,000. A complete listing of the chip counts can be found in the “Chip Counts” tab above.

Day 5 gets cards in the air at noon PT on Wendesday and will play down to the final table of six. Everybody is guaranteed a payday of $57,180, but everybody has their sights set on the more than $1 million first place prize and their name engraved on the Champions Cup.

WPT.com will have complete coverage of the day’s action as the tournament plays down to the final table.
