Muntathar Albadawi Doubles Through Ludovic Geilich

May 12, 2015

Muntathar Albadawi has doubled through Ludovic Geilich in one of the longest hands of the tournament.

We join the action with both players checking the turn on a board of Tdiamond Theart 9club 4spade. The dealer puts the 7heart on the river and Albadawi leads for 9,800; Geilich raises to 38,900, and Albadawi jams for 78,675.

The action falls to Geilich.

“This is the last thing I expected.” Said Geilich after several minutes in the tank.

The Brit has 100,000. He was one of the chip leaders. If he gets this wrong he will drop towards the bottom of the counts.

“I have never been in the tank this long in my life.” Said Geilich. “Why didn’t I just flat?”

This was the signal for Albadawi to call the clock. The countdown began, and when it reached six, Geilich made the call. Albadawi showed pocket nines for the flopped full house, and Geilich showed pocket kings.

‘That’s the only hand that beat me. That was the problem.” said Geilich.

Albadawi is now our chip leader with 180,000; Geilich drops down to 20,000.
