Nichole Roberts raises from middle position to 2,500, George Psarras reraises from the small blind to 9,500, and Roberts calls.

The flop comes Heart KClub KSpade J, Psarras checks, Roberts bets 30,000, and Psarras check-raises to 65,000. Roberts moves all in for 119,000, and Psarras calls with a similar stack and shows X AX K for trip kings with an ace kicker.

But Roberts turns over Diamond JClub J for a flopped full house, jacks full of kings. The two players are nearly identical in chips, so whoever wins will likely be chipleader, and whoever loses will be out or down to a couple of big blinds.

The turn card is the Diamond 3, the river card is the Club 2, and the full house holds up for Roberts to win the pot.

Both chip stacks are counted down, and Psarras is left with just 400 in chips, giving Roberts a full double up to reach 259,000.

Two hands later, Psarras was eliminated from Day 1B when he got it all in with X AX J against another player’s X AX 10, only to see a 10 hit the flop to end his tournament day.

George Psarras  –  Eliminated

Earlier this level, Roberts was facing elimination when she thought her Club AClub 7 was in great shape, flopping two pair on a board of X AX 7Club 2, but her opponent had X 7X 7 for a set of sevens.

However, Roberts went on to catch running clubs to win the pot with a club flush and double up in chips. That put her in a position to win this all-in situation against George Psarras, likely catapulting her into the chip lead.
