Nick Phillips Doubles Through Abbey Daniels

Dec 5, 2010

With around 40,000 chips already in the pot, five players see a flop of [As10h7s].  Abbey Daniels checks out of the big blind, Hafiz Khan checks from under the gun, and Nick Phillips (ISpewChips) bets 32,000.

Danny Fuhs is next to act and calls.  Eugene Katchalov folds behind him, Daniels calls, and Khan folds.

The turn is the [Jh] and Daniels leads out for 70,000.  Phillips moves all-in for 152,700 total.  Fuhs eyes both players stacks and folds.  Daniels calls, just barely having Phillips covered.

Daniels shows [Ad4s] for top pair.  Phillips also has top pair, but his [AcQc] has Daniels outkicked.  The river  is the [Kc], giving Phillips a Broadway straight and the massive pot.

Once the dealer meticulously counts down both players stacks, it is determined that Daniels is left with just 3,500 chips.  She is eliminated in 75th place on the next hand.

Nick Phillips – 460,000 (115 bbs)
Abbey Daniels – eliminated in 75th place ($12,669)
