Another day, another High Roller champion at the Ballroom of the NagaWorld Integrated Resort as the $2,200 Single-Day High Roller played down to a winner in fewer than 11 hours total. It was another very solid field size as 52 entries generated a prize pool of $100,880 and the usual suspects of the previous high stakes showdowns battled at the tables once more.

While Malaysia had scored a double victory in the $10,000 High Stakes Challenge, none of them would make it to the final table this time around and Edward Kim narrowly missed out on the money as well. Ping Liu ended up as the bubble boy when he lost a flip with ace-ten against the pocket deuces of Thomas Ward. Ace-ten was also the losing hand on the $5,000 Super High Roller bubble in which Liu cashed in 5th place, but this time he was the last player to leave empty-handed.

Michael Egan quickly headed to the payout desk and made it back-to-back cashes in the High Roller events while Chong Way Lim and Kevin Ayow were new additions to the money spots. Down to the final four, Phachara Wongwichit made quick work of his opponents and posed for the winner shots just half an hour later.

Hamish Crawshaw was the first to go and the Kiwi will aim to run up a stack on Day 1c of the Main Event to increase his chances for the Season 18 WPT Asia-Pacific Player of the Year race, as he is tied at the top with Hari Varma who holds the top spot thanks to a bigger cash prize so far.

With three players remaining, Wongwichit had the best of it with Spade KDiamond Q against the Club 8Spade 8 of Thomas Ward as he spiked the superior pair on the Diamond AClub 9Diamond 2Spade 10Spade Q board. And heads-up play against Asaf Berman lasted all but a few minutes, as the number one on the all-time money list of Thailand made quick work of his opponent with a big chip lead.

In the last hand of the tournament, they got it in after a Diamond 8Spade 6Club 3 flop and Wongwichit held Club 8Diamond 6 for top two while Berman revealed Diamond QSpade 8 for top pair. The Club 10 turn provided some counterfeit outs but a blank Heart 3 let the rail from Thailand celebrate.

Single-Day High Roller Payouts:

1st place: Phachara Wongwichit (Thailand) $37,324
2nd place: Asaf Berman (Israel) $22,194
3rd place: Thomas Ward (New Zealand) $13,619
