Plesuv Holds Nerve to Take Lead

Dec 6, 2015

Pavel Plesuv has impressed ever since taking the chip lead at the end of Day 3, and despite not entering the final table with most chips today, he has certainly looked to be in complete control of his temperament and his play heads-up has been terrific.

Coming into this duel with a 1:3 chip deficiency, he now has a ratio of 2:1 chips in his favour after calling off a river bet from Javier Gomez when the Spaniard had ace-high until pairing his six on the last card. Plesuv himself had top pair on the flop and two-pair on the turn, and he held his nerve to call that whopping 625,000 bet on the river. The Moldovan now has a considerable lead heads-up.

PlesuvĀ – 4,865,000

Javier Gomez – 2,820,000
