Raymond Dolan Vaults to the Top of the Counts

Aug 20, 2010

We might have a little sibling rivalry on our hands as both Tim Phan and Raymond Dolan are two of a trio of players battling for the top spot in the chip counts.

We missed the hand, but the players at the table kindly filled us in on how Dolan amassed a 160,000 chip stack:

Steve Brecher raised to 1,100 in early position, Dolan called behind, and the player in the big blind made it 2,200 to go.  Both players called and the three saw the flop fall A-Q-10.  The player in the big blind checked, Brecher bet 3,500, and Dolan raised to 8,100 total.

The player in the big blind then moved all-in for over 50,000, prompting a fold from Brecher and a quick call from Dolan, who tabled K-J for a flopped Broadway straight.  He was up against the other player’s pocket aces for top set and, when the board failed to pair, Dolan took the pot and busted the player.

This isn’t the first time Dolan has found success in LA.  Earlier this year, Dolan finished as the runner-up to Andras Koroknai in the Season VIII LA Poker Classic Main Event.
