Small Pots and Chops

Apr 18, 2016

The action over the past level has been rather minuscule, with preflop raises or continuation bets usually taking down pots. In a recent hand between the two competitors, Jimmy Gorham raised to 260,000 on the button and Jasthi Kumar called from the big blind. The two checked the flop of Club ADiamond 4Club 9 and the Spade K on the turn. The Club 4 paired the board on the river and Kumar check-called a bet of 400,000.

Gorham showed Diamond KDiamond 7 and Kumar tabled Club KDiamond 10 and the two chopped the pot with kings and fours with an ace kicker. The chip stacks are about even with each player holding roughly five million in chips.
