Sorel Mizzi Chips Up

Oct 16, 2010

With 17,000 in the pot and the board reading [Kd9d4hQd], Josh Arieh bets 8,800 from the small blind, Sorel Mizzi calls from under the gun, and Jeremy Menard (EndlessJ) calls from early position.

The river is the [Kh] and Arieh checks.  Mizzi bets 7,000 and Menard eyes his own chip stack for a minute before calling.  Arieh folds.

Mizzi shows [6dTd] for a small flush and Menard mucks his hand.

"Nice life, Sorel," Menard jokes.  "Such a sick river.  I had ace-king."

The table collectively ribs Mizzi for his good fortune, noting that he did raise from under the gun with 6-10 and making a flush against a guy who rivered trips.

Menard suggests he was thinking about raising and Mizzi admits he isn’t sure if he would be able to call.  After the hand, Mizzi is one of the biggest stacks in the room with 170,000.

Sorel Mizzi – 170,000
Jeremy Menard – 42,000
Josh Arieh – 40,000
