Stephen Graner Extends His Chip Lead

Stephen Graner
As the entire table tells it, Stephen Graner (pictured) open-raised from middle position to 8,400, which the table is convinced was a live misclick. Shooting Star James Calderaro called on the button and they went heads-up to a flop of Spade KDiamond 5Heart 3. Graner bet 13,000 and Calderaro called.

The turn brought the Heart 9. Graner bet 24,000 and Calderaro called.

The river was the Diamond Q. Graner announced he was all-in, having Calderaro’s remaining 65,000 or so covered. Calderaro thought over his decision for nearly five minutes.

“He’s got a hand every time,” he told the table. He thought a little longer, then added “I’m a chicken. I’ve got ace-king.”

He thought several more minutes and eventually folded.

As soon as the cards hit the muck, Graner started talking. “You fold to the worst bluff ever?!”

“Show it,” Calderaro quickly retorted several times over.

Graner declined to show, which Calderaro took as evidence his laydown was a good one.

“If you would’ve bluffed there, you would’ve turned it over so fast.”

Graner is now way out front of the pack and Day 1A chipleader Eddy Sabat for that matter.

Stephen Graner – 285,000 (238 bb)
James Calderaro – 85,000 (71 bb)
