Sylvain Loosli Off to a Good Start

Sep 17, 2020

Sylvain Loosli and Joao Vieira are the first of the heads-up matches shown on the stream.

Sylvain Loosli has taken the lead after winning two decent pots back-to-back. The first he opened Diamond 6Diamond 4 and flopped middle pair and a flush draw against Vieira’s Spade ADiamond 7. By the time the Spade 2Heart 6 had completed the board, Loosli had improved to two-pair and got a half pot bet of value on the river from Vieira who called with a pair of aces.

The very next hand Loosli three-bet Spade ASpade J against Viera’s 2,064 raise, and he called the 8,500 total bet. There was a small c-bet on the Spade 6Club 9Heart Q flop and it went check-check on the Spade 8 turn, giving Loosli the opportunity to hit his back-door nut flush on the Spade K river. The pot was 17,000 at this point but Vieira didn’t bite the river bet, folding when Loosli made it 12,000 to call.

Sylvain Loosli – 116,000
Joao Vieira – 84,0000
