The Action Is Fast and Blurry-ous

Sep 30, 2017

Andrew Brokos is wearing a T-shirt that reads “STAY FOCUSED.” We report that confidently, although truthfully it took some work to read it, as the words are humorously blurry.

Just now Brokos was involved in a hand with David Paredes in which the action was picked up on the turn.

The board read Spade ASpade 3Spade 6Club 4. Or it might have been Club 4Spade 6Spade 3Spade A. Things were a little fuzzy.

In any case, it appeared as though after Paredes checks, Brokos bets 450 (about half-pot), Paredes check-raises to 2,000, then Brokos pauses a bit before calling.

Both then check the Spade 9 river, and your humble scribbler has to squint a little to make sure that yes, that’s a fourth spade on the board.

Paredes tables Club 6Heart 6 for a set of sixes, but Brokos has Club AHeart A for a set of aces, all those spades having prevented even more furious action between the pair.

Both sit with about 28,000 at present.
