The Blind Misdeal

May 22, 2007

In the next hand after Randy Holland‘s double up, the button was accidentally moved too far into Jon Friedberg‘s position. The cards were dealt out, but no action had taken place, when somebody pointed out the error. Amnon Filippi angrily threw his cards down like he had a great hand, but he showed the [4c]. (He’s a jokester, that Amnon.)

The dealer brought in the cards and proceeded to redeal, but Friedberg was temporarily off his game. He tried to re-ante, but the antes from the misdeal were still in the pot. When they gave him back his ante, Friedberg was suddenly worried that he anted twice, and asked the dealer to count out the pot.

The dealer spread out the chips and glanced at them, saying the pot was correct. Friedberg laughed and said the dealer must have been Rainman. Ivey diligently scanned the pot to make sure it was right — and it was.

Friedberg was just thrown off a bit by the situation, but hopefully he’ll right himself soon.
