The Women Are Out of Contention -- Maybe

There were three women who entered this tournament — Heather Sue Mercer, Vanessa Selbst, and Vanessa Rousso. Mercer and Selbst were eliminated yesterday, while Rousso busted just a few minutes ago.

However, J.J. Liu has been checking out the tournament field, and registration remains open until the beginning of Level 12 (shortly after 5:15 pm PT). J.J. Liu is the first woman to ever get heads-up in an open WPT event, finishing as the runner-up to Ted Forrest in the 2007 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star.
