Dec 9, 2017

Tobias Peters
Dutchman Tobias Peters will go into the final day of the PMU.fr WPTDeepStacks Deauville Main Event with a good stack as he looks to make a third final table this season. With 16 remaining, Peters has already secured himself his fourth cash of the season, but after WPTDS Amsterdam and Valkenburg, an unprecedented third final table is almost in sight.

Julien Sitbon
The final 16 players are led by Julien Sitbon (pictured above) who moved away from the rest of the field over the last few levels, and is the only player over the two million chip mark. The Frenchman’s stack was boosted not just by the elimination of players such as Benjamin Dadon, but after tangling with fellow big stack Jean Montury and Damien Ducros.

Here is the full list of all remaining players:

Julien Sitbon: 2,443,000
Brice Bourgeix: 1,125,000
Miroslav Alilovic: 1,093,000
Sandro Pitzanti: 1,000,000
Robin Visconti: 920,000
Jean Montury: 897,000
—-Average: 789,400—-
Tobias Peters: 747,000

Damien Ducros: 450,000
Michel Cohen: 262,000

Franck Kalfon: 111,000

150 players started Day 2 and there was a flurry of eliminations early on, including WPTDS Brussels winner Laurent Polito and WPTDS Brussels runner-up Leonardo Armino. Start of day chip leader Mikael Guenni had a quiet time of it, with several players including Mercedes Osti, Day 1a chip leader Ekrem Sanioglu and Brice Bourgeix taking over at the head of proceedings.

Kalidou Sow

A total of 47 players would be in the money, and the bubble burst when Kalidou Sow’s ace-king came up against the Aces of Jean Jacques Ben Oliel. The pocket pair held and Sow was eliminated.

Michel Leibgorin (45th €2,490), Christophe Bouziane (31st €2,820), WPTDS Vilamoura final tablist Gregory Janin (25th €3,185) and Opener event winner Andrew Hills (19th €4,075) were among the players to finish in the money before the final 16 players were reached shortly after 2.30 a.m. local time.

The final 16 will resume play tomorrow at 1pm local time, with a livestreamed final table due to start later in the evening.
