Tom Nguyen Gets Aces Cracked, Kings Cracked, and Tens Cracked; No Surprise That He's Eliminated

Oct 21, 2018

One hand after Tom Nguyen got his pocket aces cracked, he finds himself in another all-in situation after a flop of Heart 5Club 4Diamond 3.

Madhusudhan Jakkidi is all in from the big blind with Spade ASpade 2 for a five-high straight, and Nguyen turns over Heart KClub K in middle position. Players at the table are shocked he got aces and kings in back-to-back hands, and it looks like he’s about to lose with both of them, as he needs to catch something runner-runner to come from behind here.

The turn card is the Spade K, giving Nguyen a set of kings and a chance to win if he can make a full house or quads.

But the river card is the Spade 7, and the five-high straight holds up for Jakkidi to win the pot and double up in chips.

Two hands later, Nguyen moves all in under the gun for 20,000, and Michael Wang calls from the hijack with Diamond AHeart 10. Nguyen turns over Spade 10Club 10 and says, “Let’s see if my tens get cracked.”

The board comes Heart ADiamond 6Spade 4Heart 5Spade 9, and as soon as the ace hits, Nguyen smiles and says, “There it is.” Wang wins the pot with a pair of aces to eliminate Nguyen from the tournament.
