Welcome to Day 1c of the Main Event

Feb 27, 2020

S18 WPTDS Paris-1417

In about an hour’s time Day 1c, the third of four starting flights, will commence here at Palais des Congrès de Paris and organised by Club Pierre Charron.

With two very popular flights taking place yesterday, it is likely we will see more of the same today. Day 1a saw 180 runners, of which 87 progressed and Day 1b’s larger field of 205, saw more casualties with only 78 making it through.

For that reason, the biggest stacks so far have been generated through Day 1b, and the largest of those is Eric Souvay whose 268,300 chips will be worth 168 big blinds at the start of play tomorrow.

The schedule for the day (as with each of the Day 1s) are 11 40-minute levels, with breaks after two hours of play, at the end of every third level. Breaks last 15 minutes, except for an extended 60-minute dinner break at the end of Level 6 (around 2:30 pm).

Day 1d, which is the fourth and final flight, starts at 9pm and follows the same schedule (minus the dinner break). In exchange for the buy-in, players receive 30,000 chips and there is a single re-entry available until late registration closes prior to the start of Level 10. Play is expected to finish at around 7 pm.

With the WPTDS Paris Main Event attracting so many players, it has been necessary to split the Day 2 field. Day 2a gets underway at 10am tomorrow, Saturday February 29, with survivors from Day 1a also joining them. All those progressing from Days 1b and 1d will combine for Day 2b at 3pm, also tomorrow, February 29.
