The record-breaking first World Poker Tour stop at the NagaWorld Integrated Resort in Phnom Penh and second WPT festival in the Kingdom of Cambodia has seen a field of 750 entries in the Season 18 World Poker Tour Cambodia $1,100 Main Event whittled down to 148 hopefuls in their respective starting days and two-thirds of the field will take home a share of the $727,500 prize pool.

Held in cooperation with Connaissance Management and official sponsor Singha, the biggest open WPT event in the Asia-Pacific Region has become the largest live poker event in the history of the Kingdom and the top 94 finishers will receive $1,593 for their efforts. However, all eyes are firmly set on the $131,430 top prize, the trophy, and the 1,500 POY points that come along with it.

The three starting days at a glance

Day 1a: 188 entries (24 re-entries), 34 survivors
Day 1b: 216 entries (41 re-entries), 43 survivors
Day 1c: 346 entries (79 re-entries), 72 survivors

China’s Jingjing Ke set the pace on Day 1a and remains in the driver’s seat with 486,000 when the action in the NagaWorld Integrated Resort Ballroom resumes at noon local time. Several other players came close especially in the final starting day as Ceesvin Abcaham (442,000), Richard Marquez (417,000) and Eui “Edgar” Kim (406,000) all bagged more than 400k.

Other notables among the big stacks include Didrik Mantor (392,000), Mitja Rudolf (384,000), 2019 WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer (367,000), Kuang Hung “Luke” Lee (355,000), Arravind Udayakumar (312,000), and Aladin Reskallah (303,000).

The WPT Champion’s Club members Pete Chen (164,000) and Hoyt Corkins (127,000) are joined on Day 2 by WPT Asia-Pacific winners Vincent Chauve (131,000), Hari Varma (126,000) and Dhaval Mudgal (69,000). Varma currently sits atop the Season 18 WPT Asia-Pacific Player of the year ranking after the completion of five festivals.

Day 2 will feature three levels of 40 minutes at the start and the level duration then increases to 60 minutes each for the remainder of the tournament, blinds will receive at 2,000-4,000 with a big blind ante of 4,000. The goal for the penultimate day is trying to get as close to the final table as possible and the money bubble is expected to burst after the first break of the day.
